Next Level Flag Football League in Houston at Rice University
- Community Centric League – Kids play with their friends, classmates and/or buddies! Parents get to enjoy weekend games within their social circles or create new ones. Why not be able to hang out with your friends while enjoying the game of football (or any sport)?
- Site Directors – Each Next Level location is staffed and operated by the respective High School or University Coaching Staffs – Next Level only partners with the best quality coaches/mentors in our communities. Each Site Director acts to oversee and guide each location and their own Student-Athletes!
- Student Coaches – All teams within Next Level Sports are coached by High School or College Student-Athletes within their respective communities with oversight and training from their Site Director. Our young athletes have a ‘different voice’ and influential element outside of the normal parental coaching element.
- Kids First Organization – The focus at Next Level Sports is on (1) our participants, (2) our Student Coaches…..(X) Everyone else! The league appreciates all the parental support it receives from Parent Assistant Coaches to Team Parents to Grandparents making sure their participants can get to a game. But the focus is on the kids!
- Open League Participation – Next Level Sports operates programs for both boys and girls from Kindergarten to 8th Grade. There are no tryouts, there are no combines…
- Grade Based League – We firmly believe having participants play within their grade level accomplishes the most ‘symmetry’ within an age range. We have acute perception of where children advance both socially, athletically and behaviorally. We feel kids are best served with others of their relative development – grade based leagues match this better then other methods.
- One Trophy League – While our history has been to provide our winning teams (champions) with a trophy, we have recently migrated to a championship ring as our award. That said, Next Level Sports remains a ‘one trophy league’, only one team will go home with the Champions ring at the end of the season. There are many of life’s best lessons learned via winning, losing and competition. Our league supports recognition and support of character, but not artificial support provided by a trophy (or ring) merely for ‘participation’. Effectively, there are no participation trophies at Next Level Sports.
- Unique Balance – Our programs were formed through many elements, inclusive of 50+ years of youth sports involvement as players, coaches, parents and everything in between. The most difficult achievement is a balance between competition and maintaining proper perspective in youth sports (yes, even for you parents!). Our league, the rules which govern it, along with our staff constantly evaluate and alter our course to achieve this balanceThe Next Level Flag Football program seeks to foster an environment to teach and instruct the principles and techniques of flag football in a safe environment. We encourage all prospective participants to enter at their comfort level and grow their individual skills at their own pace throughout the season. Both male and female participants are welcome! All teams will have a student-athlete assigned as the Head Coach of their team. Student Coaches will be responsible to be the Offensive Play Caller for their team while any Adult Volunteer Coach will be enabled to manage the Defense Play Calls and assist the Student Coach with rotations from the sideline.
